Physiotherapy
NHS does not specifically publish waiting times for physiotherapy but a freedom of information request showed people waiting as long as 132 days to see a physiotherapist. Over 18 days a year of MSK-related sickness absences are taken on avg per employee.
Mental Health
1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. The current wait time for an initial NHS Psychiatrist appointment is 18- 46 weeks on average.
Gynaecology
In December 2012, the average national waiting time to see a gynaecologist was 4.8 weeks. By December 2022, it had increased to 15.6 weeks, tripling in a decade and is currently sitting at 57 weeks in a number of hospitals.
Gut Health
More people struggle with GI issues than mental health and diabetes, yet this condition category is often overlooked in employee care packs. The current wait time for an NHS gastroenterologist appointment is between 18-42 weeks on average.
Diabetes
Every week, diabetes leads to 184 amputations, more than 770 strokes, 590 heart attacks and 2,300 cases of heart failure. The number of people living with diabetes has hit an all-time high to reach over 4.9 million with waiting times at 15-26 weeks on average.
Cancer
In the most recent data for England, for September 2022, the NHS only met the 62-day standard for 60% of patients, well below the target of 85%, and the second worst performance on record. That means that around 6,000 people who started cancer treatment in September waited longer than 62 days.
Dental
9 out of 10 dental practices UK-wide are unable to offer NHS appointments to new adult patients. NHS dentistry is now on life support with current wait times at over a year for a dentist appointment.
Specialist Care
New NHS data indicates that over 7mn million people are on waiting lists for specialist clinical care or surgery. 362,498 appointments require waits of over one year & 92% of appointments require waits of up to 46.2 weeks
